Amazon has the reputation of being a leader in the e-commerce market, but it knows that titans from China like Temu and Shein are going strong and will do everything possible and impossible to steal market share. For this reason, the American multinational led by Andy Jassy has decided to expand its portfolio with a new "live shopping" channel that adapts the classic teleshopping format to the current times.
In this new channel, influencers and brands will present products live and viewers will be able to buy these products directly through Amazon.
Amazon's new "live shopping" channel, which anchors the FAST (Free Ad-Supported Television) model, will be available through the Amazon Live, Prime Video, Freevee and Fire Stick platforms, although for now it will be available solely and exclusively for US customers of the e-commerce giant.
The Amazon app will play an absolutely leading role in the company's new "live shopping" channel, as it will allow the direct purchase of the products that make their way there.
Users will be able to make direct purchases from the Amazon app
Users will simply have to enter "Shop the Show" in the application's search bar to access a carousel of products where the offers currently in force on Amazon's "live shopping" channel will be displayed.
The new Amazon channel will host content from creators such as Rachel Clark, Madison LeCroy and Haley Kalil. In addition, the American influencer Paige DeSorbo will have her own “show” on the channel and it will be released next June.
The Amazon Live platform has been operational since 2019 and sells products through "livestreams" very similar to classic teleshopping programs. According to data managed by Amazon, more than 1 billion people in the United States and India have watched programs hosted on Amazon Live to date.
With the introduction of a new “live shopping” channel, Amazon aims to capitalize on the success of Amazon Live and expand its offering.
