Brands begin to collect returns.

H&M will start charging for returns. The second largest fashion distributor will extend the collection of returns between ten and fifteen markets in 2023, as reported by the CEO of H&M, Helena Helmersson, in the presentation of the results.

Although, at the moment we do not know exactly which are the countries where the charge for returns will be applied. For the moment, we know that they have had "good results with the tests, so the next step is to take this initiative to between ten and fifteen more markets, then we will see how it progresses", they have shared in Moda.es.

The Swedish group began to investigate how it could affect their businesses in September 2022. To do this, it launched the collection of returns in some markets to find out how consumers responded. However, this condition only applies to the online channel, yet the physical channel will not be affected.

This could be one of H&M's strategies to begin to find a solution to its fall suffered in the 2022 financial year. The company's sales have been 223,553 million Swedish crowns.

Other brands that have started collecting returns
The Swedish group has not been the first company in the fashion sector to make this decision. Inditex has been charging for online returns in thirty markets in which it operates since 2022, although for the moment this measure has not been applied in Spain.

Other brands already charging for returns include Uniqlo, which started charging in March of last year; Boohoo joined the trend in July 2022, explaining that this measure was to curb expenses for transportation costs; and Zalando, which has been collecting orders that do not exceed a minimum cost in nine markets since 2019.

What are strict account settings and why will your WhatsApp chats be (even more) secure now?

WhatsApp has announced the launch of a new update that will make your experience on the app more secure: Strict Account Settings. This feature is a direct response to the sophistication of current cyberattacks, which, although infrequent, represent a real threat to high-risk profiles such as journalists, public figures, and company executives. This launch comes just as the platform has been accused of allowing Meta to read WhatsApp chats. What ar...
