Once again, we're here to cover for you, dear marketer. With the recent launch of Muse Image, users can create AI-generated images on Instagram and WhatsApp. However, one of its most notable features is that it allows users to create AI images based on photos from public Instagram accounts, and we've all been automatically included in this feature (except for teen accounts). Here's how it works: In the Meta AI app, a user can tag a public Instagram account and instruct the chatbot to create new AI photos based on the images from that person's account, whether they're static posts or stories. Let's see how to prevent this. How to disable the feature The easiest way is to set your account to private, but if you want to keep it public, here's what you need to do to prevent Meta from allowing any user to use your images to create AI content:
1- Go to your Instagram account settings.
2- Scroll down to the "Share and Reuse" section.
3-Next, in the sections “Allow people to reuse your content on Instagram and with AI features,” turn off the option. You can also change the AI settings for individual photos and videos. But be aware, there's one thing we won't be able to avoid: our audio, text, and comments can be “reused” by Meta's AI. You might not see this option available yet, as Muse Image is only available in some regions. We know that Europe is usually the last to receive these types of updates, but it will arrive, so it's best to be prepared. Clearly, this hasn't been very well received by users, who are already tired of AI's presence everywhere. And especially of the AI Slop that has been flooding the platform lately. They made this clear to Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri himself in one of his latest posts where he presented the new image generation model.
Edits, Instagram's editing app, has unveiled its first batch of new features for 2026. These updates expand the tool's creative possibilities, allowing users to create more expressive, interactive, and professional videos. Add internal links to Instagram content One of Edits' main new features is the ability to embed links within a video. These links can only point to content within Instagram, specifically public profiles and Reels. O...
